Dear visitor,

I work freelance for institutes producing life science publications and medical/pharmaceutical communications. I also produce images/animations with an artistic “touch” for sales. My main area of expertise is molecular visualization, animation of biomolecular nanospaces and the creation of molecular models. I have been working in this field for 18 years for scientific institutions and companies and have published my work in all major journals with a high impact factor.

Being a former life scientist myself, I am passionate about the molecular world and call myself a scientist with a preference for visualization, but my “real” job title is “bioinformatician” and most of the time I program in C++ for my software: Maya (Autodesk) so I can use it for my purposes.

I am trained as a biochemist, c++ programmer and 3D animator/ 3D artist. I can therefore communicate directly with researchers from the laboratories, conduct scientific research independently and guarantee that the structures/visualizations/animations created are correct according to current scientific knowledge.
Over the years, I have created an ecosystem for molecular visualization for my 3D software.
For example, I can build complete proteins in a specific conformation on request, which can also be used in molecular dynamics simulations.
By creating such precise models for complete nanospaces, my work can even be used to reveal functional constraints in specific molecular environments, as in Bormuth et al. 2012.

Since my work does not simply involve direct visualization, I am usually a co-author on the publications to which I have contributed.
If I can help you with visualizing your data and/or create molecular (animated) models, please get in touch.

If you are interested in molecular art and would like to have a new visualization made or if you are interested in a license for one of my existing visualizations or variations thereof, please contact me for a quote.
